HOPPER is the structure for the temporary accumulation and storage of the bulk loads. The hoppers and chutes are most widely used within the entire chain of the transport machines.

1. What are the purposes of hoppers and chutes?

The four purposes of hoppers are:

  • Material storage
  • Material blending
  • Interface between batch loading and continuous flow
  • Material metering

Due to the conditions they are operating in, hoppers and chutes experience varying levels of wear, with some areas deteriorating very quickly, while others experience no wear.

2. What are the types of hoppers?
  • Bottom Hoppers

Bottom hoppers are designed so that stored materials can be dumped from the bottom of the hopper. Dumpers and self-dumping hoppers are included in this category.

  • Feed Hoppers

Common application is Feed Hoppers for reclaiming materials from storage buildings and piles.

  • Permanent Hoppers

Permanent Hoppers are used together with the linear vibrating devices. They are available with variable loading capacities. They are provided with an adjustable gate, which enables outlet dosage.
